Dr. Edgár Bertóti is the Professor of Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, University of Miskolc, where he graduated as a mechanical engineer (MSc) in 1984. He received his PhD degree in 1992, did his habilitation (Dr. habil.) in 2001 and became the Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (DSc) in 2004. He was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the University of Stuttgart (1993-1995) and a Fulbright Fellow at the Washington University in St. Louis (1995-1996). His main research interests are: multi-field variational principles and mixed finite element models in continuum mechanics. He is the Head of the Institute of Applied Mechanics since 2007.
