Prof. Baranyi (born 1951) graduated from the Technical University for Heavy Industry (today University of Miskolc) with honours in 1975. After working as a researcher at MMG Automation Works, he joined the Department of Fluid and Heat Engineering, moving up the ladder to become a professor in 2009. He also taught and did research as an associate professor at Nagaoka University of Technology (Japan) (1995-1997). He obtained his university doctor’s degree in 1980, the Candidate of Science degree in 1990 and the dr. habil degree in 2008, and also held the Széchenyi Professor’s Scholarship (1998-2001). He publishes mainly in bluff body aerodynamics, fluid-structure interaction and CFD.
