László Smid was born in 1974. He got his M.Sc. degree in Information Engineering specialised in Production Information Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Miskolc in 1998. After graduation he started to work as a Ph.D. student at the Department of Materials Handling and Logistics to 2001, and as an assistant lecturer to 2003. He has been working at the Department of Information Technology ever since. His special research interests are portal robot aided loading unit building; analysis, control and simulation of materials handling systems; programming language theory; data modelling and management.
