László Kamondi was born on 1st of October in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. He graduated as a mechanical engineer from the Department of Machine and Product Design of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Miskolc. From 1972-73 he worked as a research fellow there, from 1973-1985 he was an assistant lecturer, in 1985 he defended his PhD thesis. After that he held the position of a senior lecturer. In 1997 he defended his PhD thesis titled "The possibilities of reducing oscillation caused by the coupling of cylindrical helical gears" summa cum laude. From 1997 he was a deputy associate professor, between 1998-2013 he was appointed as an associate professor, from 1997 hw worked as a deputy vice dean, following that he was appointed vice dean, between 2009-2013 he was the general vice dean. From 2009-2013 Head of Department.
