She graduated as a Metallurgical engineer (1976) and gained a postgraduate diploma specialised in Heat Treatment (1985), both with honours. She has been teaching/researching in the fields of Materials Science and Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 1978, also after her retirement in 2015. She has taken on significant roles in international professional organisations (ASM International, International Federation for Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering) and professional projects in engineering. Since the mid-1990s, she has been intensively involved in educational methodology, distance learning and e-learning developments, was the founding head of the University of Miskolc's distance learning/e-learning organisation (1998-2017) and has been involved in a large number of national and international projects, often in an initiating and coordinating role.
