László Kamondi was born on 1st of October in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. He graduated as a mechanical engineer from the Department of Machine and Product Design of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Miskolc. From 1972-73 he worked as a research fellow there, from 1973-1985 he was an assistant lecturer, in 1985 he defended his PhD thesis. After that he held the position of a senior lecturer. In 1997 he defended his PhD thesis titled "The possibilities of reducing oscillation caused by the coupling of cylindrical helical gears" summa cum laude. From 1997 he was a deputy associate professor, between 1998-2013 he was appointed as an associate professor, from 1997 hw worked as a deputy vice dean, following that he was appointed vice dean, between 2009-2013 he was the general vice dean. From 2009-2013 Head of Department. He is the member of the following institutions: GTE ( 2013) , Hungarian Standards Institution (2008), Committee of Mechanical Structures of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1997), secretary of the Committee of Mechanical Structures of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2011-2017). Awarded ""Master Teacher"" gold medal for his work in scientific research at the university (2000). He was granted the titles "Honorary Fellow Student" and "Outstanding Lecturer" for his support of university students (2013). He holds the Hungarian Cross of Merit in Civil Division.
