Born in 1949 in Debrecen. Graduated as mechanical engineer at the Technical University of Heavy Industry in 1972. Between 1972 and 1976 assistant lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Technology. He has got his university doctor degree in 1977. He got his PhD degree in 1981 and became Doctor of Sciences of Hungarian Academy in 1995. Associate professor since 1981, Head of Department of Mechanical Technology since 1991. He is full professor since 1995. Since 2019, he is professor emeritus. His main research fields are materials sciences and metal forming. He is an internationally renowned scientist of hese field, members of the three largest international scientific associations (ICTP, IDDRG, EsaForm). He owns many professional and state awards.
