The doctoral school covered two major areas at start: computer science and operation research. The head of the doctoral school was dr. Tibor Tóth, and his deputy was dr. Aurél Galántai. The doctoral school provided education and research programmes for four topic areas:
A doktori iskola indulásakor két nagy területet fedett le: informatika és operációkutatás. A doktori iskola elnöke dr. Tóth Tibor, helyettese dr. Galántai Aurél volt. Négy tématerületen kínált képzési-kutatási programokat: Alkalmazott számítástudomány (dr. Galántai Aurél), Anyagtudományi és anyagtechnológiai információs rendszerek (dr. Tisza Miklós), Termelésinformatika (dr. Tóth Tibor), és Anyagáramlási rendszerek, logisztikai informatika (dr. Cselényi József).
A 2020-as évekre az kapcsolódó kutatási tématerületek köre az alábbi három fő irányra koncentrálódott: Applied Computer Science (Theory and Application of Algorithms, Data and Knowledge Systems, Intelligent Soft Computing and Computer Graphics and Geometry), Computer Supported Production Systems (Computer Integrated Production Systems; Automatization and Control Systems) and Logistic Systems (Design and Planning of Logistic Systems, Operation Control of Logistic Systems).
The total number of degrees awarded to date in the doctoral school: 92
Students enrolled in the doctoral program to date: 222
Number of students who obtained a pre-degree certificate (absolutorium): 99
