Information for the
Fundamentals of CAD subject
for 2nd-year Mechanical Engineering Students
Lecturer: Sándor Lajos, master educator
Method of Course Completion
Students attend the course in the 4th academic semester with 1 hour of lecture and 2 hours of practical classes per week. The semester is completed with a signature and a practical grade.
Requirements for Semester Acceptance and Obtaining the Signature
- Completion of 1 midterm written test at least at a pass level
- Completion of 1 drawing task on a computer at least at a pass level
- Regular and active participation in classes
If a student exceeds 40% unexcused absence from lectures (6 lectures) or 30% unexcused absence from practical classes (4 practices), the department will initiate the final refusal of the signature. After the final refusal of the signature is recorded, absences cannot be made up, and the student must retake the course in order to obtain the signature.
Tasks to Be Completed During the Semester: Duration, Timing, and Evaluation
During the semester, students must complete 1 written test (45 minutes) 1 drawing task (2 × 45 minutes) To receive a pass grade on the written test, 50% of the maximum score must be achieved. The distribution of higher grades is approximately linear. The drawing task is graded as follows: Excellent: perfect and aesthetically appropriate Fail: more than 50% of the required features are missing. Other grades are assigned linearly based on the level of completeness of the drawing.
Conditions for Retaking the test and drawing task
Students who do not achieve at least a pass grade in the written test and/or the drawing task can retake each once.
Determination of the Practical Grade
The practical grade is the average of the grades received for the written test and the drawing task.
